Although city born and bred, in the short time that I’ve been doing photography I’ve gravitated towards nature photography. I love being in the outdoors and a camera by my side has become a natural extension of that experience. A combination of factors has led me to try street photography: weather (it can get mighty cold here in winter and walking through the woods in -20C isn’t that appealing); exploring the more interesting parts of my city on foot (you see so much more than when driving by in a car); and an interest in trying something new and expanding my photography skills. So here goes…

Love how you’re showcasing street art! Can’t seem to choose between these – they’re all so pretty!

Love the murals on what looks like a pair of back stoops. Wonder how many look closer and see the rabbit/hare on the door? Neat shots, Belinda. It’d be interesting to see more of these from you and observe how you blend and adapt your style to another form.

Especially like the middle picture here – its a combination of the shapes, especially those diverging pipes over on the left which contrast with the organic trails of the ivy; then the colours, those pinks against those greens; and the fact that the luscious greens are at opposite corners of the frame, they kind of hold the rest of it in, they sandwich it. Lovely image. Adrian

Nice shots and a great plan to limit your cold exposure. I’m partial to the cow on the wall–country in the city!

Very nice, and I like the color. If I don’t do different things I get stuck. I force myself to B&W. Here you did color. Nice

Its always good to do something different, Belinda, especially as most of nature sleeps during the winter months. These are very interesting and colourful images.

Great idea for the winter months, and you are so right about seeing much more on foot in the city. The top shot of the ‘stoop’ (that’s what my grandmother called it) with the red flower is fabulous!
