The owl was perched in a tree just off the main pathway when someone pointed it out to us. We had walked by minutes before and hadn’t seen it. We took our share of photographs, the owl was quiet and watchful but in no hurry to fly off. The light was tricky that morning, so I made some exposure, contrast and highlight adjustments in Lightroom.
This is not the first time a stranger in the park has shared what he had seen with us. You often meet the nicest people in the most unexpected places.

It’s always such a treat to come upon an owl, and so lucky when it’s light out, so that you can actually see it. Getting these photos was extra special — and really fine photos they are, Belinda. I saw my first barred owl in Texas and will never forget it.

Owls are so accommodating. They let you do your things for as long as …unlike my little friend(hummingbirds). Those don’t play game, you know. I get a kick when I am lucky enough to capture them. Nice shots Belinda.

So true about strangers you meet; Ted and I have been the beneficiary of similar tips and try to do the same. These are great shots and so nice to get the full bird with leaves on the trees.

I love being in the company of owls! It’s a bonus when a couple of decent photos result. There’s a story in my blog about my chance encounter a while back. One little victory…(http://wp.me/p28k6D-1SC). Cheers, Belinda!

These are wonderful birds and photographs, Belinda! I have yet to spot an owl in the daytime to photograph one, although I have heard them a plenty at night. Very nice captures!
