STOPS ALONG THE WAY

TULIPS (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Canada’s Tulip Festival is a yearly event in Ottawa that takes place each May. We decided to go before the official opening in order to avoid the crowds. There are many varieties of tulips in bloom with many yet to come over the three weekends of the festival. After a break from photography this past cold winter it was a pleasure to get out again with our cameras, coming home with muddy knees from taking close ups of the flowers.

  3. Beautiful photos! The community where I lived for many years in upstate New York has a Dutch history and heritage. They have a wonderful tulip festival every spring. Your lovely photos remind me of that 🌷🌷!

  7. Both photos are gorgeous, Belinda. I like the crispness of the first one, and the gentle surrealness of the second one.

  12. Beautiful shots, Belinda. Lovely composition in the first one with the promise of the unopened blossoms and the striking magenta striped tulip surrounded by all that green! The second one is wonderful, too, with the detail and focus on that one bloom. And what a color symphony after the dull cold winter and spring you have had.
