STOPS ALONG THE WAY

A FINE BALANCE (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

I rarely carry more than the lens on my camera when I set out to do some photography, so I pretty much have an idea of what I’d like to photograph. On this particular day I had my 105mm and was looking for flower and insect subjects. I wasn’t disappointed by these red milkweed beetles.

I like to hear other people choose their gear for a hike or nature walk. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful shots.

What a treat to see the beetle’s beautiful features. I love seeing the segmented antennae and underbody. Terrific photos, Belinda.

Good reason to have a wide range soon and not worry about carrying several lens. 😉

I like the juxtaposition of the two photographs; the second is so analytical, the first is more poetical.

/Seeing them up close like this we can see that they have faces. They’re not just wings and legs.
