STOPS ALONG THE WAY

RED SQUIRREL

Red Squirrels are pretty bold with other squirrels. Although much smaller than the greys they often chase them around. In this case the squirrel stood his ground and kept eating as I took his picture. He never took his eyes off me but didn’t budge either.

  1. I love squirrels. I don’t know anything about photography, but for what it’s worth, this picture is very pretty. Nice lighting.

  3. Cute little guy 🙂 I didn’t know red and grey squirrels co-existed…I’ve read that grey squirrels carry a disease that kill of reds ;(

  5. Beautiful creature. We have only American Greys here now, our Reds have retreated before them. But, notwithstanding, I do have a soft spot for squirrels.

  11. Red Squirrels were always the ‘trouble makers’ when I lived in New England. Great shot.

I have discovered Fox Squirrels down in the southern US. Interesting looking, larger, bulky, and dark heads with a mask. Not many around, but I have been trying to photograph one in the woods.
