We don’t see too many chipmunks anymore. They’re outnumbered by red and grey squirrels. I was happy to see this little fellow enjoying his cracker with no competition from the bigger guys. It looks like his snack just fell out of a picnic basket, his for the asking.

Wish you could take a few of ours! They are cute, but can drive us a bit crazy!

They are cute but I imagine they’re a real nuisance for a gardener.

So cute! 🙂 We don’t see chipmunks in our yard at all any longer. Seems like there is less and less wildlife even though our area is very rural.

Thank you Tom. They seem to be crowded out, not sure why.

Chipmunks are a joy to watch, and you captured him beautifully, Belinda. I love seeing the shadow of his little claws on the cracker.

Lovely photos Belinda! In our American Southwest, we have Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels. They have short ears and a different head shape. Love this little Chipmunk!

They look very close to a Chipmunk don’t they! They run across the road in front of you driving in the desert, watch out! They love the peanuts that tourists give them at the Red Rock Overlook where you have a fab view of Red Rock Canyon proper and the surrounding mountains. They have a beautiful home!
