CABBAGE WHITES (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

It seems to be a good summer for cabbage whites, it’s very hot and sunny with plenty for these butterflies to feed on. Not as flashy as many butterflies they still have a unique beauty and are fun to photograph in some of their loopier poses.

  1. The second one is a very good macrophoto. Love the capture of the butterfly hanging to the tiny yellow flower.

  2. Very nice! 🙂 I still see quite a few but not in numbers like many years ago (when our river bank would be swarming with tons of them).

  3. Nicely done. I find these guys harder to get good pictures of.

  7. We have a lot of them just now too, but it’s a treat to see them up close through your photos, Belinda.

  9. I love the cabbage whites. Sometimes we take them for granted because they are so common, but what a lovely fluttering presence they are on earth. So difficult to photograph due to their constant movement–makes these photos especially great. Thanks Belinda.

  11. I say well done on capturing them at all: our cabbage whites seem to flutter about far too high and bob about far too quickly for me to even focus.
