STOPS ALONG THE WAY

WALKING BY (THREE PHOTOGRAPHS)

The colour and texture of this weathered looking house caught my eye and when I saw the sign I smiled and took the shot. Taking an alternate route in a familiar neighbourhood can be an adventure. The second photo was the result of a similar walk. These houses were ordinary but the city laneway reminded me more of one in the countryside and was well worth some attention.

  2. I’m taking alternate routes in familiar neighbourhoods too, just now, and also finding them rewarding. A 🙂

  3. You’ve a great eye for lines and angles. I particularly like the B&W version of the lane.

  4. Wow! Quite a contrast to the “raw nature pictures” and reminds me of my urban life as a kid.
    I like it! 🙂

  5. I love it when an image, in the view finder, displays something very different than what you might see being there. The world inside a tiny box.

  7. The lane shots in colour and then b/w made me think of summer and winter at first. I had to chuckle when I saw the raw state of the drive-through. The wood with the peeling paint almost had me running for the workshop to get the paint scraper and a wire brush.

  8. I like the B&W treatment of the lane. The passageway seems longer and ending with those moody clouds–nice!
