NUTHATCHES (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

I usually see these little acrobats in the trees and only occasionally foraging on the ground. These two were approaching their meal differently. You only truly appreciate their diminutive size when spotted on the ground. Beautiful little birds that we enjoy year round in this part of the country.

    Beautiful shots Belinda and so much detail. In the second picture one can see the little insect in its beak. The first is my favourite.

    These are such dear little birds. I love hearing their “Enk! Enk! Enk!” and seeing them flitting about with so many twists and turns on the branches.
