STOPS ALONG THE WAY

TOP OF THE WORLD (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Nothing compares with ducks for their natural enthusiasm! Ducks appear frequently on my blog and mallards most often, as they are the most common duck (and bird) in this area. We have more exotic avian visitors during the warmer months but for dependability, good looks and charm mallards are my pick.

I read they were the most photographed bird on line. Must be true, it was on the internet.

Beautiful. They look happy, even though I know they’re just grooming.

Your mallards and words here are wonderful, Belinda. I love that top photo and the joyful “top of the world” sentiment you expressed. I love mallards too.

Oh my gosh! To be able to stretch my neck and bill totally upside down to face the sun as the mallard in the top image is doing would be so amazing and satisfying! The mallard is really common here too, and I confess I do take them for granted and often overlook them to hope to spy something more precious and rare, but they are so beautiful. Thank you for reminding of that!
