STOPS ALONG THE WAY

RED SQUIRRELS (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

The first photo was taken in the fall and the second barely a month later; the landscape changes rapidly with the seasons. Red squirrels can be found all year long and seem to shadow you in the winter when food is scarce. In the photo below the squirrel found the seeds that someone had left and stayed put as I approached. I didn’t want to disturb him, so I took this photo and then left him to his meal.

Lovely photos. Living in much milder climes, it amazes me that such small creatures have adapted to survive the long snowy winters. I am not sure that I would cope with such cold!! Keep warm and enjoy the holidays.

Nice contrast between the two and a cute portrait of the second one using his hands to eat.

Lovely, noisy little things! Pound for pound, they are probably the most powerful personalities in the forest. Always enjoy watching them – and love your photos too 🙂

Wow, what a difference there is in this one month. The squirrel seems redder in the second one, and of course the earth is vastly different. Lovely to see both photos. Happy holiday wishes to you, Belinda.

    Red Squirrels? Amazing.
I never saw one while living in the UK.
