BELINDA GROVER PHOTOGRAPHY

STOPS ALONG THE WAY

AT HAND

I took this photograph with my 70-200 mm lens. I do a lot of close up photography with it. As I’ve written before, I usually go out with one lens for the day. I had planned to photograph wildlife but I saw this shot and tried it. It goes to show that you don’t necessarily need a macro lens to do this kind of photography. If the subject is within range, I’ll always give it a go.

  1. Absolutely beautiful and exquisite image. I often just go out with a single lens too – my go to lens is around 70-300 full frame equivalent – I often “see” images at 300mm = x6 magnification … yes, you’re right, I am a space alien …. well, somebody has to be …. A 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. so, at what lens length was this shot? since it was a zoom….70? 200? someplace in between? and how far away are you standing? i also use a 30-110 zoom on my J5 and find i am a bit far from my subject but when i use the 10-30 i can get much closer for my macro shot.
    nice shot btw.

  10. You got a lot of detail in this one. I never think of insects as having that much “personality.”
