Although I took this photo in October the background suggests summer. The bird appears to be molting, another hint that the season was moving along. No matter the time of year, or less than perfect plumage, cardinals are always a delight.
They are such pretty birds, but yes, the faded red was the first thing I noticed about this guy. Still, I’d love to see one in real life. I never have, as they don’t come out this way and I don’t get out their way. Makes me appreciate your photos of them all the more.
