SUMMER BREEZE (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

It’s a challenge to photograph flowers when the wind picks up a bit. Daisies can be seen in the fields and along roadsides everywhere right now. The goat’s beard is a less common wildflower and I’m always pleased to be able to photograph one.

  2. Interesting to see your goat’s beard! We have one species of it here, Tragopogon pratensis (possibly the same as yours? It looks very similar). Over here, it is also known as jack-go-to-bed-at-noon because it shuts up its petals in the afternoon.

  5. Wonderful shots! 🙂 It’s windy almost every single day these days; it does make taking photographs difficult. I used to fly stunt kites and i can tell that the winds are more aggressive and nasty as time moves forward.

  7. i’m glad someone else has “fun” with flowers and wind. it seems that each time i go out and take flower photos, the wind follows me. lol i raise my camera and the wind blows. lower my camera, the wind subsides. lol

  9. The flowers that are not blowing around are so clear it’s as if an artist took a fine pen to draw the lines – especially the lines on the underside of the daisy on the left in the first photo. And of course the yellow flower on the right on the second one, which you focused on. Very nice, sharp lines. So much detail on the fine hairs of the yellow flower.

  10. I really like the perspective of the first photograph – most of us would try to home in on the eye.
