Bindweed or Wild Morning Glory is a beautiful looking flower but can take over a garden, wrapping itself around other plants and smothering them. I saw this flower in the wild; the early morning light providing a nice soft box effect.
Such a delicate flower, folding and hiding its little face in the dark of night.
Turning to follow the bright sun of the day.
Soft features and soft colors.
But try to mow it, it may as well be anchor chains!
Ah yes, bindweed – it is rather tenacious, isn’t it! We have it in the UK too. It’s a native species here, I believe, but I can imagine how hard it is to eradicate as an introduced one in North America.
Despite its unwelcome appearance in gardens, it is a pretty flower which you have portrayed beautifully. I also like the leaf in sharp focus on the right.

You would never know it by appearance alone.

Delicate, it looks fragile, but what a tenacious plant!

Thank you.
I hadn’t realized how destructive they were despite how attractive they are.

Thank you Deborah.
Strangely enough, it wasn’t growing with many others.

We get them popping up every so often in the garden and then it is all systems go to remove it.

And if you leave any part of it behind in anything resembling soil, you’ll have another plant starting up.
