The daylily is showing up everywhere at this point in the summer; in gardens, fields and roadsides. Not native to North America, they do beautifully here and are another flower I look forward to. The wind picked up as I was taking the photograph. The focus is a bit soft but I think it adds realism to the shot.

I find it interesting that you find day lilies growing in the wild as it were. They have obviously found North America a good place to settle down for I have only seen them growing in gardens in South Africa. They are imports from England, I believe and perhaps your climate is better suited to their dispersal than ours.

They grow like weeds (slight exaggeration) but they do very well here and last a long time.

I esp. like the lighting in this shot, Belinda. I always look forward to the daylily bloom – they denote ‘summer’ to me.

Sweet shot, Belinda! They are wrongly underappreciated except by insects and me and a few humans. 🙂
