I think the milkweed plant is its most beautiful in the fall. The pod stood out against the dry grasses and brought contrasting colour and texture to its surroundings.
Both nice but if I had to pick it would be the B&W … it’s more graphic and makes a stronger artistic image I think. I agree … open milkweed pods make a great subject!
I found the color photo very captivating. I was entranced by the many reeds and grasses, some in focus and others not, making lines and graceful arcs in the air.
The Milkweed pod itself has a resemblance to a bird, and it’s as if the grass lines trace its flight through the image.
These still objects bringing a kinetic energy.

I used to love finding the milkweed pods at the preserve near our house in upstate New York. Your photos brought back lovely memories
