I hadn’t remembered taking this mauve poppy last year and found it when I was searching for a photo to post. I still prefer red poppies but the mauve has a delicate beauty all its own.
Nice captures, Belinda! I don’t think I’ve seen the mauve variety, very pretty. Your second image is lovely, with an artsy dreamy quality. I like the hint of daisy in the background.
We had some self-sown (where from?) mauve poppies in our garden for about five years. They flowered prolifically and then this year the long drought crisped all the seedlings and I am guessing we have seen the last of them. I like the dark base of each petal.
