STOPS ALONG THE WAY

CONNECT THE SPOTS

After a bit of research I found out that this is a two-spotted grass bug. (The spots are on its back which made it a bit difficult to identify. ๐Ÿ˜ ) When I started out in photography I never thought I would take an interest in insects and enjoy photographing them as much as I do.

  1. The world of insects; beware you are going to down a rabbit hole ๐Ÿ˜€ . But it will be fascinating as I have been finding out since last year when I got into it besides birds.

  2. As much as I sometimes find it hard to define myself by one style of photography I do feel that nature photography gives you so much more than some other styles.

  3. Macro and close ups enable us to study the details of insects that we wouldn’t be able to do easily in the wild. I credit Victor with opening my eyes to insects without squirming. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Getting up-close with a macro lens gives us the ability to see things our eyes would miss, it’s this that can fuel the enthusiasm.
Lovely shot of something most would never have noticed.

  10. And you have done so beautifully! As I mentioned in an earlier post of mine, I think digital photography has helped to foster an interest in the smaller aspects of nature because we can actually see them better. My knowledge of the natural environment has broadened as I too have sought to identify insects and flowers that have caught my eye. I think I probably notice more things too now that I know it is possible to see an enlarged version on my computer screen. In the past you may well have simply walked past this two-spotted grass bug – now we can all enjoy it!
