STOPS ALONG THE WAY

AMERICAN BLACK DUCK (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

The American Black Duck is very similar in appearance to the female mallard, although its feathers are darker and its bill is an olive yellow. Not as common here as the mallard but still well represented.

A species that is easily accidentally overlooked, I imagine. Thank you for the ID tips!

An understated elegance, and a little bling of white on the tail. Well captured, Belinda, and I like them both.

Very nice photos, Belinda. I like all the curly lines on the duck feathers along its back and sides.
