What an appealingly unusual (to me) shot…..love the black subject against all the midtone in the exposure/frame. Super neat.

We didn’t have them where I grew up, very common here in Ontario. I agree they’re very cute.

I noticed over time that when I would take my boat to Port Huron, Michigan, there were black squirrels there, not 50 or so miles west where I lived, just the gray squirrels in that area. Hmmm…

Great catch, Belinda! I love black squirrels which are just melanistic gray squirrels. There are a couple in our neighborhood but I have yet to see one when I have my camera handy. I’ve never seen a white melanistic except in posted photographs
