I always enjoy seeing a chickadee. It was a windy August day and the bird seemed to have a tenuous grip on the edge of the rock. It appeared to be molting too.
The chickadees are just beginning to flock together closer to the house after being absent for a couple months, presumably foraging deeper in the forest. My favorite feeder bird!

He does look a bit frazzled with the wind. They’re so little I guess they can easily get blown around.

It seems that a bird’s resting position is to have its talons locked no matter the weather conditions.

They are so stinkin cute!! The Mountain Chick-a-Dees are coming down from the mountains now. I heard and saw quite a few on my hike yesterday.
