
Japanese Beetles are a form of scarab beetle. Despite their attractive appearance, they are an invasive species in North America and parts of Europe and very destructive to many crops and flowers. They do make interesting photography subjects though.

Belinda, I didn’t realize Japanese beetles were a form of the sacred scarab. At least that connection is one good thing about them. They don’t make me happy when I see them in my garden.

It has no natural predators here so their numbers have gotten out of control.
