Groundhogs are true hibernators and usually hibernation begins in late October and lasts through March. We’ve had up and down temperatures and the grass is still nice and green so maybe the locals will delay their long winter nap for a while.
Oh wow! You’ve seen one! In the Wild! I’ve only seen them on T.V. on February 2nd! He or she looks so cute! We’re having a freeze today it’s dropped to the 20’s overnight. Brrr! Makes me want to stay warm in bed.

I hope to see a few more before they settle down for the winter, we’ve been having nice, warm weather 😊. Thank you, Donna!

What a face! 🤓 This one looks like he has enough fat to last him through the winter. 😉

By fluffy I meant that he is very plump and well fed. Good duck! 😂❤️

They’re quite common here. I always enjoy seeing them! With the warmer weather forecast I hope they’ll remain around for a bit.

Yes, and rarely are they ‘skinny’

I see a resemblance to our dassies (rock hyraxes).

I’m sure they are, if they want to survive.
