I haven’t seen many downy woodpeckers this year but I did see this one in the spring. I really like these little birds, our smallest woodpecker.

As our forests here mature, we see more woodpeckers. I often hear there ‘pip-pip’ before I see them. Of course, the suet feeder is their favorite!
