Hummingbird Moths are spectacular looking insects and good pollinators. I don’t see them every summer so when I do spot one hovering by a flower it’s pretty exciting.
Once in a while, during the Summer months, I get to see one of these kinds of Moths flying around our Butterfly Bush. They sure are a interesting kind of Moth.
Great sighting, Belinda!! I don’t see them often either. This one looks different from the ones I’ve seen. How cool is that! There are more than one type! This is a wonderful hovering image of it.

I had never seen one until we moved to North Texas. I see them every summer now!! So fun to watch-and photograph!

Out first summer in the Lowcountry these moths were one of the things we noticed quickly.

It would be nice to see them more often but the occasional sighting makes me appreciate them more.

Thank you very much, Lynette 😊. They’re supposed to be fairly common but I don’t see them often at all.
