I believe this is a leucistic Canada Goose, it lacked the usual pigmentation of the other nearby geese but otherwise resembled them. I hope he joined the group after a while, he looked a bit lonely ๐.
My vote goes to some influence from a white-fronted goose (anser albafrons), judging by the colour of the bill and the feet, and the bands of colour across the chest (and general features that are very similar to white fronts). Could be some messing around with a Canada or some other goose….

Wow, Belinda! Great photo and lovely sentiments about this lone goose. How fascinating that people were able to identify how unusual it truly is.

Whatever the ID, it is a striking goose! I’m voting intermediate adult morph. ;D

Iโm only familiar with Canada Geese, so this was a unique sighting for me.

Definitely unique! And a nice pose with the one-legged ballerina doing his or her thing.

I believe Burrdoo is correct you found a Ross’s Goose Blue-morph! I haven’t seen one in ages. Great sighting!

Pretty sure it’s a Blue-morph Snow Goose, according to my National Geographic “Field Guide to the Birds of North America.”

I hope the others do not hold its colouring against it. Your photograph is lovely.

Wow. I think youโre right, Belinda. He definitely looks like a Canada goose except for the odd colouring . Good photo of him.
