I thought for a moment that it had given its owner the slip, but it sounds like this intended and all is well. I met a young rough collie bounding up my road the other day with his owner in hot pursuit!

You’re a quick shot, Belinda, caught her in mid-stride!

That is a beautiful capture, Belinda! Three feet off the ground in joyous abandon. 😊

We get WAY too much of that where we live. People come from their crowded neighbourhood to ours, where we still have a tree or two, and let their dogs off leash to get into all kinds of situations. It doesn’t seem bad when one dog is having a nice run, but when there are more of them all day long every day, it can change a person’s attitude about off-leash dogs and their (many of them) irresponsible owners. It also means that I can’t walk my own dog for fear of meeting a dog who may not be as joyful as this one in your photo. Sorry to be a sourpuss over it, but we see the worst of the worst around here (interspersed among the responsible dog walkers).
