A very large tree must have stood on this spot at one time. I liked the shadow play on the grass and the new shoot sprouting to life on the remnants of the tree.

Yes, a large tree must have been there. I’ve sometimes seen very small trees sprouting from felled giants. Good to see some growth taking over. A moving photo, Belinda.

Thank you, Lynette! When the branches of these trees are left in place they break down and enrich the soil and little animals benefit too. The remains of these trees keep on giving 😊
