Belinda, not to be a contrarian, but am wondering if this is not an Asian Beetle rather than a Lady Bug, as the Asian variety has more orangish looking shell and the Lady Bugs are more red. I see more Asian Beetles than I do Lady Bugs in this area, nd the best way is if you pick up the orange shell looking beetle it gives off a pungent smell. They also “bite”. One can easily do a visual comparison search online.

Come to think about it I didn’t see too many either last year. You found a beauty here though.

Beautiful shot, Belinda. We actually had a fair share of them here this year, and several had to be “rerouted” back outside after making their way indoors. Welcome visitors, however!

Isn’t it funny how most people don’t like bugs, but almost everyone loves a ladybug.

Like the angle here, Belinda. I imagine a character walking along, singing a happy tune! 🙂

That is such a gorgeous capture of the ladybug, Belinda. I didn’t see many of them last summer either.
