
We usually see Lesser Scaups for a few days in the spring as they migrate through eastern Ontario. Their primary breeding range is further north and west. It’s always a pleasure to see them though, if only briefly.

Beautiful shot of lovely ducks! I just saw my ‘first of the season’ Lessers couple weeks ago. They’ve arrived on the Chesapeake Bay!🤗

The male is a beauty. Bright eyes. Not sure I have ever seen one.

We must be a rest stop for ducks LOL. For all the wildlife we have I don’t think there is a wide variety of ducks here.

Nice photo, Belinda. It’s hard to tell the difference between lesser and greater scaups, but in this photo, the head shape seems to verify your I.D.
