Many of the older homes here have been built with red brick. It does provide a nice backdrop for these late summer flowers.

I bet those brick walls have nice early spring blooms too. Those walls must give off some nice warmth after a cold season.

Red brick homes are strong and look good! And, something you don’t see down here in the desert very often.

Many homes here have insulation then chicken wire and then stucco for the exterior. Weird but it holds up very well to our scorching 110-degree summers.

I bet the brick provides extra warmth on the shoulder seasons, too. A microclimate!
