    Nice shot.
We have quite a few Greater Cormorants in all corners of the south of France throughout the year. Most keep their distance but there are a few parks offer them perching spots closer to shore – and well placed hides from where to observe them.

Great shot, he looks content! Seems they love those kind of perches around me too. 😊

Hi Belinda, I agree they always seem to be just out of range. I have been lucky a few times when they are feeding closer to the shore.

Still it’s a nice environmental shot of it.

That’s a lovely photo. I see Cormorants my way. One place it’s further out where a rock is for it to perch, always with its wings stretched out and my view there is only from the back.

Another place where they don’t usually attend and if you see them not many, was an ocassion where there were unusually many. So, caught mine and another person’s attention. It was also an opportunity to see them closer for the first time, in detail. It was then, at that point when I asked that birdwatcher what the bird was and learnt they were Cormorants.

That’s a great capture, Belinda. They are difficult to get!

It’s safer out there, except from the air.

I’m always surprised to see one inland, I always think of them as a shore bird.
