These poppies are an introduced species in Ontario. They’re popular in gardens and can naturalize in the landscape; I saw these growing in a field.

Poppies always remind me of the scene in The Wizard Of Oz where the characters are running through the poppy field towards the Emerald City. Childhood memories!
