Two weeks ago Yellow-rumped warblers began appearing in large numbers. These photographs were taken over a period of a few days. These birds are another welcome sign of warmer weather and are one of the many birds that pass through on the spring migration. They are colourful and easy to spot but never stay still for long enough. I like the different poses of these three, they seem to be trying to say something.

Beautiful photos. We have them all winter but their plumage is much less striking than the times you see them further north.

How very cute, I love that they have this intense yellow spots in very select places! I shall have to keep an eye out for that type of bird now, I’ve never seen them before.

Oh, these are wonderful captures, Belinda! I agree, they never stick around long enough. We do get other warblers in the forest and by the river, so I shouldn’t complain. They are wonderful to listen to in May!

Beautiful photos! The first shot is my favorite, but I would definitely like to know what the bird in the second photo would like to say.

Fantastic! Small birds are very hard to get a crisp clear shot. I especially love the first.

That’s the difficulty with small birds … always verry active. You manage to make some great shots !
