Wishing won’t make it so but a photo taken on a warm summer day works wonders! A seemingly ordinary insect on a daisy make for two of my favourite subjects. I liked the less than perfect look of the flower. Daisies have a long season in our climate and this showed it a bit worse for wear but still beautiful.

The way flies rub their front (hand-like) legs together habitually always gets me; it’s as if they are plotting something very mischievous! (Those little rascals!) 🙂

They do look as though they’re up to something😏. They use their legs to clean their sensors.

There is a lot of beauty in small things, and it’s so easy to rush past and miss it. Great shot!

I like this photo so much, Belinda, for all the life it expresses. Both ordinary daily summer sights, yet so extraordinary in the colorful gleam of the fly’s back, the delicate wings and busy front digits; as well as the curled and chewed-up flower petals of the daisy, the pollen, some of which has been distributed and some of it not. Very lovely.

I enjoy these “small” wonders often as much as more spectacular subjects for the very reasons you describe so well! Thank you Jet.
