I took this photo in late fall, one of my last sightings of wood ducks for the year. I would have liked it if there was less distance between the ducks, but with water like this I couldn’t really complain.
They’re such beautiful ducks! I wish we had them out here but they are only incidentals. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a live wood duck. Would love to see one!

They brighten our waterways every spring! I believe they breed in southern B.C.
