Although very small there is no overlooking these brilliant green bees. This one was gathering pollen, and its legs are well dusted with it. Nothing says summer more to me than a scene like this.
I remember well the agapostemon bees I’ve come to know in Nebraska and Minnesota, but I believe they’re restricted to the western (and northern) hemispheres. Great to see new ones again, Belinda.
Beautiful, colorful photo, great details of both the fly and flower. Well done! (I don’t know many flowers, but I think it is a dandelion? It is a very pretty flower up close!)
I hope this isn’t an indication that you are desperately waiting for spring already, Belinda. We have a long way to go! But you’re doing a fine job at denial and hope. Lovely outfit this bee has!
I hope you have a big stash of these summery photos to keep us hopeful all winter. It’s only the beginning of the ugly season and we have a long way to go.

Nice limited palette of yellow and green. I like the way the bee’s color is repeated in the background.
