
Regular readers will have noticed that it’s been a few weeks since my last post. I was out of town for a while and then picked up a nasty bug (yes, Covid is still very much out there). I’m on the mend now and what better evidence than to feature one of my favourite ducks 😊

I hope you’re over this bug, Belinda. We’ve had a lot of sickness here this winter too. Your photo is really gorgeous. I like how bright and precise the mallard lines are in contrast to the water’s ripples and swirls.

They are rare down in south Texas where we spend our January. They have the Mottled Duck in abundance in that region instead.
