Like a lot of people this time of year, I’ve had enough of winter. It’s cold and snowy and I miss the sun. Looking through my files I came upon this fritillary I took in June. It was a reminder of a time last summer when the whole day stretched before me and I could enjoy the outdoors with camera in hand.

It has been quite gloomy this month, though the sun did make an appearance this afternoon (and you can bet I threw on my coat to go out for a walk!), but I’m liking the cooler weather still. Spring is only 7 weeks away!

I can see you’re finding summer photos harder and harder to resist. I feel the same way. Enough of this cold weather already. Bring on the butterflies.

Lovely! Are you sure it’s a fritillary? Maybe a Pearl Crescent? They look so much alike!

Thank you! I spent some time trying to identify the butterfly. It most closely resembled a fritillary ( I thought) but you might be right.
