I took this photo in late June when the plant was beginning to flower. It’s native to Ontario and other parts of North America. It got its common name from its use as a herbal medecine to break fevers. I liked the way it was set off against that summer green background,

A nice singling out of a young flower head, Belinda. We scarcely notice the ‘before’ and tend to focus on the later showy bloom. However, looking at the frilly compound leaf leads me to believe that is Yarrow. (Boneset has simple ovate leaves.) The botanical nerd in me can’t be controlled, ha! 😀

I hadn’t heard of this one before. I looked it up and it sounds like it can be beneficial for a lot of things, but it does come with a warning that too much of a good thing can be harmful, so be careful how many photos you take of it.😉
