I think there are few birds more contented looking than mallards, especially with a nice perch on a sunny day.

That’s a good capture, Belinda. I agree, once mating has been completed, the males calm down considerably. The mallards are the only other birds that the aggressive Canada geese or the nervous quail will tolerate and mingle with.
