BELINDA GROVER PHOTOGRAPHY

STOPS ALONG THE WAY

UNRULY BIRD

The photo has an unusual composition that I like. The chickadee to the right of the photo and the leaves to the left provide balance. No Rule of Thirds here or the usual negative space in front of the bird. Some rules are meant to be broken!

I love the way the light comes from behind. It looks like the chickadee is gazing into the forest and will take off any moment. Good rule breaking.

I like this very much, Belinda. The branches frame nicely and having him off to the side creates some nice tension in the image. Chickadees are a favorite. 🙂

Yes, as Pete Hillman says, if it works, it works >>> go for it!

Nice! It’s good to color outside the lines every so often!

Wonderful, Belinda! Goes to prove experimentation is the key, and if it works, it works like this one does!

I was about to say the composition was great, and I like it….I see the other one beat me to it! Nice !!

not pretty but rather-powerful. That is one very tired mom or dad chickadee. Feeding little ones this time of year is exhausting. Your empty, off center composition and the angle of the leafless twigs poignantly reinforces the feeling. Great image!
