STOPS ALONG THE WAY

SPRING BONUS

In early spring, whenever I see the first of something it’s cause to smile. I have seen a few trout lilies this season but this was the first bee I’ve spotted. Although a lot of the cultivated flowers are in bloom, the wildflowers are slow to appear as are insects. It made the bee especially nice to see.

It’s such a thrill to see the return of living things once again…the birds, the bees, the blooms…I don’t know what will happen when spring no longer holds these wonders.

I miss the hum of bees in the cold months and it is a joy to see them again in spring. Currently, our quince hedge is in full bloom and it is buzzing with bumblebees and our first hummingbirds – such a joyful reunion!
