DRAGONFLIES (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Dragonfly 2Although dragonflies can be challenging subjects, in watching them you become familiar with their behaviour and can often anticipate where they will land. The dragonfly in the first photograph was on a perch just above the water which made for a pleasing background. They are one of my favourite insects to photograph.

Very cool! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a black-and-white photograph of a dragonfly. The tonal range and sharpness in it is amazing.

Awesome angles, details, and conversions to black and white Belinda! I wish I had such a good angle last summer when I was photographing Dragonflies, and Damselflies. Buggers kept their back to me…every one of them! Fingers crossed this summer I get something as nice as your images.

Fabulous images, Belinda. That first one is so unusual looking. I really love your black and white here which shows off its amazing details.
