BELINDA GROVER PHOTOGRAPHY

STOPS ALONG THE WAY

CURIOSITY (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Ali-Leaf-2I wondered if I could photograph a leaf as it floated to the ground. At 1/640th of a second I managed to get one leaf in perfect focus.
The second photo was taken this fall. When I first saw the thing in the water several years ago, it startled me as it looked like an exotic vine or reptile. I later found out that it was the work of beavers. (After all, we don’t have alligators in Ottawa😏 .)

Awesome leaf capture, Belinda. And now you know you can! 😊 And, my, that beaver work does look quite menacing!

    Excellent falling leaf, Belinda!
That certainly does look like something living in the water and you know I’ve learned to double check!

At first, I thought the leaf was caught by a spider web, dangling in the air. Not easy to catch one in mid-fall!
I also saw the second photo as a gator, too, or some fierce creature lurking. It would have given me pause as well!

The beavers’ handiwork would have convinced me too. Well done with the leaf. I still try to catch them as they fall, but capturing them in a photograph is a step up from that!

Excellent timing on the falling leaf, Belinda! I’ve tried several times and never managed it.

That does look like an alligator or something!

Nice shot of the falling leaf! Where we live now we have a lot of beavers. The local parks are full of fallen trees from beavers. Sometimes it is hard to walk the paths. I guess that is why they say “busy as a beaver!”

Congratulations on catching the leaf! I don’t blame you for getting a fright the first time you saw the ‘thing’ as it is most unusual.

Great leaf pic! The other – well, it does look a bit like Nessie’s cousin.
