This downy woodpecker is one of the first I’ve seen this spring. She appeared to be considering how to approach the job of searching for insects.

Beautiful…. how do you manage to get them so sharp… me and birds do not mix… By the time I’ve focussed in… they’ve flown away 😀 😀 😀

Thank you. There are a lot of factors, including shutter speed, aperture and ISO and a measure of luck 😏.
Have a look at continuous focus on your camera.

Until now I only heared woodpeckers or just saw them flashing by, never succeded to make pictures yet.
