The first of the Canada Geese began returning a few weeks ago. I saw this lone individual on the river one sunny day during the week.

The Geese started returning here in February in the northeast we had such a mild winter. Smart birds.

For sure, it is. I just noticed, though, how shiny the rump feathers look. That’s what made me think of a decoy.

They make a lot of noise when they fly over the house but I like it because it reminds me of growing up on the lake in Michigan. Just stay away when they have goslings!
