Canada Geese migrate south when the temperature turns cold. Not everyone’s favourite waterbird but I enjoy them especially like this, taking a quiet swim.

Just this week we’ve noticed more Canadian geese. Some hang around here all year long, but lately I’ve heard more of them honking in the sky!

Some do (our resident flock) but most fly south.

These birds are best seen from a distance, they are beautiful but mean! I like seeing them flying over my house and flying at night!

Some stay here all year round but, it won’t be long before more arrive. I thought, ” Full steam ahead” when I saw your image of this goose seemingly headed straight for you!

We have some that over winter in the warmer parts of the country. Not here though. The goose created quite a wake in the water 😊

They are definitely aggressive and bad-tempered but such good parents. I recently had one give me the stink eye and a loud hiss over a “baby” goose (the “baby” was as big as the parents and almost indistinguishable). I wasn’t all that close but backed off anyway! Excellent picture. They are certainly beautiful birds.
