I have never seen a Red-winged Blackbird in my life, this is really exciting! Congratulation – also to appearing on Discover with this post. 😊

What a super photo of this juvenile, Belinda! It’s funny… We see adults every year nesting in our wetlands, and we often see the naked nestlings after they have hatched and just when they are beginning to fledge as little fluff balls. But, more often than not, I guess they leave before we really see them at this stage!

That’s a fun find, Belinda, and a great capture. I don’t know that I’ve seen one, definitely not one that was sporting the wing patch.

Great sighting, Belinda. It looks like it still needs to grow into its beak!

Good I.D. At first I wondered about the speckled body, but the red wing patch is a giveaway. What a lucky find!

What a great capture, Belinda. 😊 They’re so striking. You seem to have an excellent location for attracting water-loving birds.
